Kindergarten Round-Up Wednesday, February 1
Mrs. Flores, along with the kindergarten and preschool teaching teams, are hosting a kindergarten round-up on Wednesday, February 1 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the MPR. This is an opportunity for parents to learn more details about Davis Magnet School. Teachers will share strategies on how to best prepare your kindergarten in the coming months before school starts in the fall. Any and all parents who are interested in sending their kindergartener to Davis are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there.
Curriculum Day is January 25
On January 25, all students are invited to bring their parent to school for the day. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to observe and learn alongside their children during a typical Wednesday. Parents are invited to stay for the entire day or stay for an hour. All visitors are required to sign-in at the front office and wear their “Curriculum Day” sticker throughout the day. We request that other accommodations be made for younger siblings as this is an adult-only invite. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office.

Our Mission is Learning!
At Davis Magnet School, our mission is learning. In order for students to learn, they have to be at school ALL day long. Our school day is scheduled from 8:15 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, all boys and girls attend school from 8:15 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. Please plan accordingly and make sure that your child is in their classroom line at 8:15 a.m., promptly when flag deck will begin. Any student not in their line at the ringing of the 8:15 a.m. bell will be marked tardy. Also, it is very disruptive to student learning when students leave for a portion of time in the middle of the day or at anytime prior to the final bell. Every minute of learning is precious and we want our students at Davis Magnet School learning during the school day. Please schedule appointments before or after the school day. With your support and help, we can work together as a team towards our mission.
